A new gourmet restaurant on the first floor of the Kunsthotel Teufelhof — Christoph Hartmann's modern, product-led cooking takes over the room that was the Bel Etage, with a multi-course menu and a cellar of more than 500 wines.
NOVA is the first stage of a full relaunch of the Teufelhof's gastronomy. It replaces the Bel Etage on the first floor of the art hotel at Leonhardsgraben, with Christoph Hartmann as head chef and Fabian Borer as sous chef leading an eighteen-strong kitchen. The kitchen describes its cooking as modern, honest and product-focused — the ingredient itself at the centre — served as a multi-course menu with a meat and fish or a fully vegetarian option, and pairings drawn from a list of over 500 wines.
The relaunch runs in stages. The Café zum Teufel on the ground floor served its last day on 30 August 2026 and its interior is being rebuilt from 31 August; it returns in October as Bar 47, a lunch, apéro and small-plates bar open daily from 11:30 until midnight, with a Coravin system rotating premium wines by the glass. While the work is under way the Bar-Gärtli stays open outdoors in good weather, served through the Restaurant Atelier. The Atelier itself follows in spring 2027. NOVA opened on 15 October 2026.
