Tanja Grandits' concept store moves to the Rhine for an 18-month stay — the same own-brand teas, chocolates and apéro snacks from Stucki, now paired with tableware made by small regional makers in a pink-lacquered room with a view of the river.
The two-Michelin-star chef's shop has a new, temporary home: her Stucki restaurant on the Bruderholz is going through a partial renovation, closed since 26 September and due back in December 2027, and the old shop on Bruderholzallee closed on 12 September to make way for it. The longtime shop team has moved with her — Tanja Grandits says she expects to be at the St. Johanns-Vorstadt address at least until December 2027, with the Stucki kitchen itself relocating temporarily to the former Roots space at Rhypark from February 2027.
The 150-square-metre room sits directly on the Rhine, with large windows and whitewashed walls keeping it bright through the day. Pale pink lacquered cabinetry runs floor to ceiling along one wall, a coral-coloured fridge breaks up the palette as a single bright accent, and oak parquet ties the room together underfoot.
The own-brand side of the shop carries over from Bruderholz: aromatic tea blends, chocolates by chef-pâtissier Julien Duvernay, house apéro snacks and sablés, a nut granola with cinnamon flowers, and fresh pastry from the Grandits bakery in Dornach. Around it sits a curated run of kitchen and home pieces made specifically for the shop with small regional makers — matcha cups thrown by local potters, fine porcelain, a postcard by a Basel artist, wooden serving boards from a carpenter — many carrying Tanja Grandits' own fennel-flower mark.
Grandits holds 19 GaultMillau points and two Michelin stars at Stucki, was named GaultMillau's Koch des Jahres twice, in 2014 and 2020, and opened a second, more casual restaurant, Schlüssel, in Oberwil BL in September 2025.
**Best for:** a gift stop or a quiet tea break on the river while Stucki rebuilds. Tuesday to Friday, 10.00–18.30; Saturday, 9.00–17.00.
