Hüsli Café & Bar

The 1950s waiting house on the Erlenbach boat landing, ten steps from the lake, is now an all-day café and bar for barely twenty — espresso in the morning, focaccia and small Italian plates later, and a Negroni as the evening sun comes across the water.

Hüsli sits right on the Schifflände in Erlenbach, in the little pavilion that was built for people waiting on the lake boat. The renovation kept the dark wood, the rounded lines and the fifties feel, and added heating, so the room now works through the winter too. Inside are low ceilings, small tables and big windows onto the lake, with room for not much more than twenty; outside, a narrow terrace runs along the water. Towards evening the sun comes in low from the far shore and turns the whole place gold.

The day runs from espresso to lunch, wine in the afternoon and aperitivo with plates to share, from a short card: Cerignola olives, giardiniera, artichokes with herb dip and Cantabrian anchovies to start; house focaccia plain with olive oil or filled with mortadella and pistachio, or stracciatella and lemon gel; carne cruda with roasted hazelnuts and lemon; polpette in tomato sauce; a salad of wild broccoli, rocket, walnut and ricotta; tiramisù to finish. Snacks run 7–12 francs, antipasti 12–27. To drink there is espresso, Spritz, Paloma, Negroni and espresso martini, orange wine and a simple wine list with Prosecco and Champagne.

Behind it are Armin Azadpour and Axel Hahne. Azadpour comes from Bar Lupo in Zürich, and here scales that experience down to the size of the room and the rhythm of the landing — an espresso before the boat, focaccia after a swim. Hüsli soft-opened during the Erlenbach Chilbi from 5 to 7 September and opened officially on 11 September 2026.
