Two friends with more than ten years in restaurants behind them have opened an Italian ristorante, pizzeria and lounge in Glattbrugg — pizza, pasta, meat and fish, with vegetarian and gluten-free options, to eat in or have delivered.
Grano Antico opened on 1 September 2026 on Europa-Strasse in Glattbrugg. The name points to wheat, which the founders call one of the oldest foundations of Italian cooking, and their stated aim is tradition with a touch of innovation. The dining room is large and dressed in white tablecloths, there is a lounge alongside, and the house takes birthdays, family celebrations and company events.
The card runs from pizza and pasta to meat and fish. The dishes the kitchen has shown so far include the house Pizza Grano Antico, pasta alla Norma, fritto di pesce, grilled octopus on a saffron potato cream, and tagliata di manzo on rocket with cherry tomatoes and Grana. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options throughout, and the menu can be ordered online for takeaway or delivery.
