Der Wilde Kaiser Beisl 2.0

The Wilde Kaiser's Beisl has a room again — Viennese Schmäh, Schnitzel «ohne Wenn und Aber» and a Sissi Bar & Lounge for Austrian gin and late glasses, installed in the old Sihl paper mill at Sihlcity after a long search for a new home.

Der Wilde Kaiser spent months without a Beisl of its own, sending guests to its two sister houses — the Wienzeile at Zähringerplatz and the Wiazhaus in Egg bei Zürich — while it looked for a room. Beisl 2.0 is that room: Kalanderplatz 6, the converted paper mill that also holds the Folium and Papiersaal event halls.

Alongside the restaurant sit the Sissi Bar & Lounge, leaning on Viennese mixology and Austrian gins and spirits, a Schank, and a Würstelstand. The kitchen's line is Austrian cooking brought up to date rather than served as museum pieces, with the Wiener Schnitzel treated as the house test.
