The Italian-Japanese hit from Vienna and Zürich's Altstadt takes over the Cresta Palace's Grand Restaurant for the winter.

Tobi Müller and Eduard "Eddi" Dimant opened the first Cucina Itameshi at the Dogenhof in Vienna in 2024 before the concept drew crowds in Zürich's Altstadt. From 3 December 2026 to 29 March 2027 it moves into the former Grand Restaurant of the Cresta Palace Celerina – its first time in the mountains, following the hotel's Ya Mama by Moses Ceylan.

The idea is that Italian and Japanese cooking are kindred spirits – few, excellent ingredients and depth through simplicity. The crowd favourite is Udon Cacio e Pepe, with hand-pulled udon in place of tonnarelli, coated in pecorino, pepper and egg yolk, alongside tonno crudo and Italo kimchi. Only the tiramisù is left untouched. Florian Mainzger, the Cresta Palace's new executive chef, trains in Vienna before the opening.
