Dusty Donkey

The Dusty Donkey pop-up returns to the Schlössli Utenberg above Lucerne for a fourth run — «Jakob's Gute Stube», a five-course dinner in the rococo manor on the Dietschiberg, Fridays and Saturdays from 30 October to 19 December.

Every autumn the Gamma Catering team dresses the Schlössli Utenberg — a patrician house high on the Dietschiberg, otherwise given over to weddings and company events — in a new costume and opens it as a pop-up restaurant for seven weeks. Earlier volumes turned the rooms into a 1920s speakeasy and a glitter-and-disco seventies bar; volume four is «Jakob's Gute Stube», a warmer, panelled-parlour idea to carry the run through to Christmas.

Dinner is a fixed five courses: a Lozärner Pastetli 2026 amuse with veal tartare, liquorice-tarragon foam and marinated pearl onion, then char from the Reuss with blood orange and pickled kohlrabi, pumpkin gnocchi with apricot and Piedmont hazelnut, venison with Jerusalem artichoke, Périgord truffle and thyme honey, and a Gamma reading of a plum tart to close. CHF 136 per person including apéro, water and coffee, with a vegetarian or vegan version on request.
