The old Post in Watt gets new hosts: Cyrill Jokl and Liliane Zimmermann reopen it on 8 November with honest Swiss cooking.
The Restaurant zur Post has stood on Rümlangerstrasse in Watt, a village of Regensdorf, for generations. From 8 November Cyrill Jokl and Liliane Zimmermann run it – the logo stays, but the kitchen becomes their own. They celebrate with an opening apéro on Sunday, 8 November, from noon to six.
The menu is down-to-earth Swiss: Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, calf's liver fried in butter with onions and sage, beef Stroganoff with homemade Spätzli, Appenzeller Käsespätzli and a Niederglatt pork sausage with onion sauce, plus a pumpkin soup and a build-your-own salad bowl. There is a daily changing lunch menu, and a children's dish of Spätzli with cream sauce.
**Best for:** a weekday lunch or a family dinner of classics done properly.
