A farmstead on the hill above Baar, worked since at least 1762, reopens as a restaurant and event house — modern Swiss market cuisine served under old beams in the Gasthaus, in the historic Stübli, or out on the cobbled garden terrace with the Zug countryside beyond.
The Talacher was known well beyond the region for its gastronomy and its long-running distillery, and the listed farm buildings have been kept in the character of a typical Zuger Bauernhof. Inside, each room has been given its own use: the Gasthaus is the heart of the restaurant, generous and high-ceilinged with modern pieces set against the historic timber; the Stübli keeps its classical charm for smaller tables; and there is a lounge, a terrace and a garden, plus rooms set aside for events — weddings, company gatherings and family celebrations — with planning and catering handled in house.
The kitchen is modern Swiss market cooking, seasonal produce and a carefully chosen wine list. The house has been open since 14 August 2026. Reservations online or on +41 41 711 05 05, and groups of 11 or more by email to event@bauernhofzug.ch. Around 60 parking spaces on site, and the farm sits on the Baar–Ägeri road above the village.
