Contemporary Japanese clothing on Sihlstrasse — curated garments chosen for form, material and everyday wear, with a repairs and alterations counter built into the shop rather than bolted on.

Soto stocks Japanese and Japanese-adjacent labels — TCB Jeans, orSlow, Monitaly, Chamula, Yuketen, FOB Factory, Spellbound, Gurank, Monostereo, Kluane — in a room fitted out in warm wood, with hanging rails, a woven display bench and a brass floral chandelier over the floor. The buy is workwear-leaning and deliberately narrow: quiet, refined pieces meant to be worn daily rather than a broad seasonal range.

The mending counter is the part worth knowing about. Rather than selling garments online, the shop's web store lists services: a hem or a waist adjustment at 35 francs, a button sewn back on for 15, hole repairs, a cobbler, and resoling. For a shop built on hard-wearing Japanese workwear it reads as the point rather than an afterthought — clothes bought here are expected to come back for repair.

The shop trades as Seven Standards GmbH. Reach it at soto@soto.shop.
